Call of Duty 3 Midnight Release! 11/7 @ 8PM

Play N Trade is pleased to announce that the annual Call of Duty midnight release party is back and bigger than ever!

Starting at 9pm on Monday, November 7th, we will be hosting a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Tournament. Following the tournament, we will be hosting our midnight release for Modern Warfare 3.

This year will be bigger than ever with special guests to be announced later.

Don’t forget to preorder today to guarantee your copy! We SOLD OUT of Gears of War 3 minutes after opening for the midnight release.

The last day to receive $10 gift card with preorder was October 15th.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Tournament – 11/7 @ 8pm

During our midnight release for Modern Warfare 3, we will be hosting a Modern Warfare 2 tournament!

To enter the fray costs $10, or only $7 if you’re a 10/10/10 member, or only $5 if you have the game preordered. The grand prize is $100 in store credit. Entry free also gives you access to pizza and soda as well as all of the midnight release chaos for Modern Warfare 3!

The tournament is held in store over a local area network.

Battlefield 3 Midnight Madness!

In celebration of the upcoming release of the million-plus-preordered Battlefield 3, we are proud to announce that we will be holding a midnight release for Battlefield 3 on October 24th starting at 11:30pm.

We will operate during normal business hours, but reopen at 11:30 PM to allow people to come in and celebrate Battlefield 3 in the minutes leading up to the release of the third game in the critically-acclaimed series.

Not only will we be open at midnight to purchase Battlefield 3, but at 6 PM, we will be hosting a tournament for Battlefield: Bad Company 2!

Come one, come all, for the Battlefield 3 midnight release festivities! But wait, first, is the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 tournament to once and for all declare the Phoenix King of the Battlefield.

Join us on Monday, October 24th, 2011 at 6PM for all of the festivities, including pizza and soda.

The store will close as normal after the tournament, and doors will reopen at 11:30 for the Battlefield 3 midnight release.

Super Smash Bros Smashtoberfest – 10/16 @ 3

Smashtoberfest is a celebration of all things Super Smash Bros. Come and celebrate the Master Hand and the Crazy Hand and all the figurines in this grandiose battle of the best Smash competitors in the Valley.

Join us on Sunday, October 16th, 2011 at 3PM for all of the festivities, including pizza and soda.

Gears of War 3 Midnight Release – September 19 @ 11:30 PM

In celebration of the upcoming release of Gears of War 3, we are proud to announce we will be hosting a midnight release for the game.

We will operate during normal business hours, but reopen at 11:30 PM to allow people to come in and celebrate Gears of War in the minutes leading up to the release of the third game in the critically-acclaimed series.

Not only will we be hosting a midnight release for Gears of War 3, but we will be hosting “Gears of War Week” here at the store. We will kick it off on Sunday, September 18th with a Gears of War 2 tournament, followed by the midnight release Monday, and the actual release Tuesday. More info about Gears of War Week will be released at the end of August.

We look forward to seeing all of you Gears of War fans at our midnight release!

Be The Very Best Pokemon Master of Phoenix

I wanna be the very best, that noone ever was. To catch them and beat them all, is how I win the tooooournament. Oh wait, that’s not how it goes! Coming July 24th, Play N Trade is bringing the Pokemon tournament back, stopping in the new Unova region.

Like always, the tournament will be $10 to sign up for with a $100 grand prize in store credit.

Here are the rules:

Battles will be 1v1 battles, not 2v2 or 3v3.

All Pokémon that are Level 51 or higher will have their level reduced to 50 for the duration of the battle with the following parameters:

Each Pokémon retains all of the moves that it knew before being auto-leveled

Pokémon that evolve after Level 50 do not devolve when auto-leveled

Pokémon below Level 50 remain at their actual level rather than being auto-leveled up to Level 50 for the battle
The Pokémon’s stats are adjusted to what its Level 50 stats would be

Players may not enter two Pokémon with the same nickname

Players may not enter a Pokémon nicknamed with the name of another Pokémon character (for example, an Unfezant nicknamed “Pidove”)

Each Pokémon on a player’s team may use held items, though no two Pokémon may hold the same item during battle.

There will be random spot checks to ensure the integrity of the match and ensure that all Pokemon have been legitimately caught and no tampering occurred.
